For me, «The Snow Queen» does not boil down to the story of a boy whom the evil fairy took to the North Pole. Our ballet is about how easy it is to lose contact with close people, even staying close to them. This is a performance-journey: in search of herself the heroine must go on a long journey, show courage and pass the test of darkness and cold. One cannot say where exactly Gerd goes: the kingdom of the Snow Queen is not a specific point on the map, it is inside a person.
We have prepared a colorful children's play, and it will be interesting to viewers of all ages: a good children's work is always multi-layered. As I determined for myself, this is a fairy tale for children — and adults who lack attention. Perhaps one of them himself once visited the palaces of the Snow Queen.
